The design of the homes and landscape will encourage a healthy and engaged elderly community with large communal spaces indoors and outdoors, carefully landscaped and themed gardens and walking paths around the site.
The site is in the view zone of the listed Bursledon windmill and the design has been carefully coordinated with the local authority conservation team and other consultants to ensure that good views to the windmill are maintained.
The design reflects its position in a formerly rural area north of Southampton, picking up on rural and agricultural design cues, with hints of old mill buildings and accretive agricultural buildings in its appearance.
