We are recruiting a Senior Architectural Technologist

About Us

Williams Lester is an established RIBA Chartered Practice with an expanding portfolio of diverse work across the south of England. Located in the New Forest market town of Ringwood, Hampshire, we work from a characterful studio with a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

Our principal areas of expertise are in the residential, retirement living, conservation and master-planning sectors. We operate a motivated and experienced professional team, placing strong emphasis on design and creativity. Design innovation is supported with project delivery using BIM, centred around Revit and BIM Collaborate software, in a collaborative project environment.

The Role

Due to an increasing workload, we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative Senior Architectural Technologist, capable of leading the technical development of building projects and managing project delivery. Candidates should ideally have 5+ years post-qualification experience. Confidence to engage well with clients and the ability to progress new projects through the technical design stages of a project will be key requirements.

You will join a motivated and professional team supported by the practice’s forward vision to invest in their staff and BIM technology. Long term support and career growth will be structured with annual reviews and external training.
We offer the benefit of flexible working hours, hybrid working from home, the option to purchase additional leave, a workplace pension scheme and a performance-related bonus. The salary will be commensurate to experience.

You will work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure that our designs are of a high quality. Your role will include leading and producing detailed technical drawings and construction packages, coordination of information across disciplines and platforms, compliance with regulations, overseeing projects through technical, tender, and construction stages, undertaking site visits, liaising with clients and contractors and inspecting works.

Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

* A thorough understanding of typical building construction methods and detailing.

* Excellent verbal and written communication with confident presentation and interpersonal skills.

* Good technical knowledge of current UK Planning and Building Regulation procedures, construction methods, and materials.

* Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD with experience delivering BIM-based projects.

* Confident working independently and taking responsibility for project delivery.

* Ability to manage own time effectively to meet project deadlines.

* Experience in all project work stages.

* CIAT membership is highly desirable.
