A listed building restored and converted into two traditional cottages.
This award winning new residential scheme in West Street, Wimborne lies in the heart of the town’s conservation area. The project included the reconstruction of a structurally condemned listed building to form two character cottages returning the street scene to its late 19th century appearance. Original period features and materials were re-utilized wherever possible. The remainder of the side was redeveloped to provide townhouses and flats.
The scheme sits comfortably within the historic street-scene in the medieval part of the town centre, enhancing a former brownfield site. Period and local vernacular features have been adopted whenever possible, including a distinctive curved corner – found widely around the town.
