Through careful spatial planning, the house has been transformed into an exceptional, contemporary coastal residence.
Situated on the edge of the picturesque town of Milford-on-Sea in the New Forest, Lymedale is an exclusive development of three luxury homes by Dunford Construction. Plot 2 occupies a prime corner of the site with distant, uninterrupted views across adjacent farmland towards The Solent, Hurst Spit, and the Isle of Wight.
Following planning permission for the 3 houses, Williams Lester made substantial enhancements to both the external detailing and the internal layout to elevate the dwelling’s overall quality, while ensuring that there was no need to go back in for planning amendments. We replanned the core of the home, introducing a substantial double-height vaulted entrance hall encircled by a first-floor galleried landing. This dramatic space forms a striking central visual axis, leading the eye from the front door, through the expansive open-plan living areas, and directly out to the south-facing gardens beyond.
The glazing was rationalised into larger, simpler forms which, along with cleaner simpler detailing and high specification give the house a crisp contemporary look.

The house occupies a prime corner of the site with views across adjacent farmland towards the Isle of Wight.
The ground floor plan flows from this grand hallway into the principal living rooms. A large family room projects out of the back of the house, wrapped in contemporary, full-height sliding glazing. This allows the owners to entirely open the rear of the house to the terrace, bringing together indoor and outdoor living, while the thin frames and large panes of glass allow unbroken views out when closed. An outstanding bespoke kitchen opens into a dining and family area. A separate formal lounge to the side features a large, recessed fireplace. a private ground-floor study, and a dedicated utility area complete the ground floor.
Upstairs, the floorplan was reorganised to maximise the property’s spectacular vantage point. The master bedroom suite features a generous dressing room, an en-suite bathroom, and French doors opening onto a private balcony overlooking the coast. Where before there were a pair of smaller en suites, the plan revisions place a third bedroom facing south over the back garden and taking advantage of views towards the isle of wight.
Through careful spatial planning, the approved house has been transformed into an exceptional, contemporary coastal residence.
