Swanhills is a traditionally designed development of 18 dwellings on the northern edge of Cerne Abbas, close to the famous Cerne Giant. Through the use of typical local materials, building forms and detailing, the design is intended to complement and sit comfortably within the rich and diverse architectural character found in the nearby village. The informal low density layout harmonises with pattern of development found at the edge of the village. This is an important aspect of the scheme design being respectful of the site’s natural, rural setting. The development includes 6 affordable homes for local people.
